51 underprivileged children from Hapay na Mangga Elementary School Taytay, Rizal will be having a different Christmas this 2007. Because of Philec’s “Share a Noche Buena Project” ( a Corporate Social Responsibility program of Philec HRMD), these children will be having a modest feast with their family on Christmas.
Sagip Kapamilya (Family Rescue)” is the program mounted by ABS-CBN in response to the devastation brought about by the four destructive typhoons in 2004: Unding, Violeta November 22-26, 2004, Winnie November 28-30, 2004, and Yoyong December 3, 2004, hitting hard the areas of Bicol, Central, and Southern Luzon. Eight regions were damaged with 53,037 families displaced and properties destroyed were valued at Php 5.7B. There were 1,062 people dead, 1,161 injured, and 552 missing.
