For more than a century, the Lopez family has practiced the concept of private business reaching out to their communities and the nation, not only in times of calamities, but as customary behavior. It is a behavior they have accepted as the norm. See Lopez History

Through the years, philanthropy has shifted to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), focusing on equipping communities to stand on their own. The beneficiaries are treated not as dependents but are educated to become active partners for social development.

The CSR initiatives of the Lopez Group are aligned with the United Nation's Millennium Development Goals (or MDGs) in poverty alleviation, education, environment, and health. The Lopez Group is also a champion in advocacy through its worldwide media outlets.

The Lopez Group collectively becomes the bridge that helps Filipino families cross over to a better and sustainable quality of life. They are: the bridges on air through its telecommunications facilities, the bridges on wires through its energy distribution services, on the ground through its expressway infrastructure and petroleum pipeline operations; the bridge for better education and quality of life through its corporate foundations.

LGFI's logo signifies the Lopez Group's CSR programs bridging the gaps (economic, cultural, and social) that prevent Filipino families from rising above poverty, marginalization, or oppression.

Lopez Group Foundation, Inc. (or LGFI) is the coordinative hub for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of the Lopez Group of Companies in the Philippines -- one of Asia's largest business conglomerates. The companies of the Lopez Group are into communications, energy, infrastructure, and real estate.

Incorporated on February 29, 2004 and certified by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC), LGFI's main task is to create group-wide synergy in the members' various CSR programs. LGFI stands on the pillars of the Lopez family values of public service, nationalism, and entrepreneurship. The present generation of Lopezes continues the Lopez legacy, building on past acts of philanthropy creating bridges on present initiatives in corporate social responsibility.
