(KCFI) is committed to bring quality education to all Filipinos by using television as an effective and efficient teaching tool. Through its flagship project, the Knowledge Channel, students from the poorest areas in the country as well as teachers are exposed to educational TV programs. Through Knowledge Channel, KCFI hopes to equalize the learning field regardless of economic and social status. Its programming matches the Department of Education's elementary and secondary curriculum requirements. It also airs adult continuing education and livelihood programs. Knowledge Channel is provided to schools for free through cable or wireless technology. To ensure effective utilization of the intervention, Teacher and Principal trainings are conducted at no cost. Calendar Guides and Lesson Plan Guides are also provided to all school beneficiaries. Knowledge Channel is viewed by more than 3 million cable television users in 59 provinces nationwide. To date, the channel is available to 2.7 million students in some 1,617 public schools in 44 provinces nationwide.

Lopez, Inc., is privately held by the Lopez family and serves as the principal holding and management company for Benpres and other businesses. Historically, the Lopez family started doing business in 1926 under the business name E&F Lopez Enterprises, named after the two brothers: Eugenio Lopez, Sr. and Fernando Lopez. The co-ownership agreement and business operations of the company was formalized in 1928 with the take over control and management of sugar plantations in Negros Occidental. From then, it went into other businesses such as, publication, shipping, land transportation and aviation. The old Lopez, Inc. was founded in 1935 as a real estate business. It then further expanded its business to include cinemas and other land transportation. E&F Lopez, Inc. was then organized in 1940 with the opening of theaters, introduction of ice cream business in Western Visayas, expansion of its airline and shipping businesses, purchase of The Manila Chronicle, opening of its own cement company and establishment of Iloilo City Colleges (now known as University of Iloilo). It ventured into broadcasting in 1956 with the acquisition of ABS, followed by purchase of MBS the following year, then into financial business with the organization of PCI Bank in 1960, and onwards into other businesses. In 1962 all properties and businesses of E&F Lopez Enterprises were transferred to Benpres Corporation, taken after the name of the Lopez patriarchs: Benito and Presentacion.
